On the afternoon of September 10, 2026 (local time), in Paris, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF International) co-organized the High-Level Leadership Forum and Leading Vietnam-France Enterprises. The forum was honored to welcome the attendance and direction of General Secretary and State President To Lam and the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.
The Forum discussion session was co-chaired by Minister Ngo Van Tuan and Chairman of the France–Vietnam Business Council Benoît Clocheret. At the event, leaders of top businesses and corporations from both countries delivered speeches and exchanged views across five key sector groups: information technology, infrastructure, aerospace, energy, and healthcare–chemicals–pharmaceuticals. Among them, Gemadept Corporation was honored to be the sole Vietnamese enterprise in the infrastructure and seaport sector to deliver a speech at the Conference, while also exchanging a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its French partner, CMA-CGM Group, in the presence of high-ranking leaders from both nations. This Memorandum of Understanding will promote cooperative expansion and the development of new business activities between the two Corporations in the areas of electric barge transport, freight transshipment centers, and the International Maritime Financial Center (IMFC).
Mr. Pham Quoc Long, Deputy General Director of Gemadept, shared: “Gemadept Corporation believes that, with CMA-CGM’s strengths in technology, experience, and global network, combined with Gemadept’s Port–Logistics ecosystem in strategic locations and execution capability, both parties can jointly build new cooperation models that are larger in scale, more efficient, and deliver longer-term value. With the goals of digital transformation, green transition, and sustainable development, Gemadept, together with strategic partners including CMA-CGM, will implement integrated maritime ecosystem models centered around seaports.”
Also as part of the program, representatives of Gemadept attended the seminar hosted by MEDEF International, meeting and discussing economic, investment, and technological cooperation opportunities with leading business and trade organizations from both countries.

Notably, on the same evening, Gemadept representatives were honoured as among the 10 major Vietnamese business representatives invited to a grand reception at the Élysée Palace with French President Emmanuel Macron, General Secretary and President To Lam, and his spouse.
Proud representative of Vietnam’s maritime industry
Established in 1990, Gemadept is a pioneering enterprise laying the foundation for the container logistics industry in Vietnam. After more than 36 years of development, Gemadept has gradually built an integrated port and logistics ecosystem, with infrastructure and services spanning from North to South, connecting Vietnam’s production centers with the global supply chain and maritime network.
For Gemadept, participation in the High-Level Leadership Forum and Leading Vietnam-France Enterprises holds special significance. In Gemadept’s development journey, there is a very specific testament to the strength of Vietnam-France cooperation: the joint venture between Gemadept and CMA CGM investing in and developing the Gemalink Deep-sea Port, Vietnam’s largest deep-sea port and one of 19 ports worldwide capable of receiving the largest container vessels today, up to 250,000 DWT.
To further affirm the sustainable cooperation between the two parties, in April 2026, Gemadept Corporation and CMA-CGM officially commenced Phase 2 of the Gemalink Deep-sea Port. Upon completion, Gemalink’s total capacity will exceed 4 million TEU per year, further strengthening the role of the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster as an important international maritime gateway, directly connecting Vietnamese goods to major markets in Europe, America, and Asia.
In Hai Phong, the Nam Dinh Vu Port Cluster of Gemadept Corporation is the largest feeder port in the Northern region, with an annual throughput exceeding 2 million TEU. The Nam Dinh Vu Port serves as a crucial gateway, catering to intra-Asia routes and connecting the Northern economic hub with the international trade network.
With the Nam Dinh Vu Port Cluster in Hai Phong and the Gemalink Port at Cai Mep – Thi Vai, Ho Chi Minh City, along with a logistics ecosystem – including maritime and inland waterway transport, cold storage, automotive logistics, and many other integrated logistics services, Gemadept provides comprehensive and efficient supply chain solutions for domestic and international customers.
Emphasising the sustainable development direction and core values of the Corporation, Mr Pham Quoc Long shared: “For us, the greatest value does not lie in the scale of the projects but in the cooperative relationships that have created those projects. Gemalink is not just a successful investment project – it is a symbol of trust and connection between Vietnam and France. On this solid foundation, Gemadept will continue to stand alongside strategic partners, especially CMA CGM, to vigorously implement the integrated maritime ecosystem model centred around seaports, aiming for digital transformation, green transformation, and sustainable development.”
The visit of General Secretary – President To Lam to France this time will open new opportunities for cooperation between Vietnamese and French enterprises, making it more solid, extensive, and effective. Gemadept Corporation and its partners will continue to actively promote trade between the two nations.
