Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises all the activities of Technical department during his shift. Supervise the maintenance and repair of all the equipment, including tractors trailers, RTGs, Empty handler Reach Stackers, STS cranes, FFC cranes and other technical support equipment (electrical, electronic, and mechanical) ensure jobs are performed in accordance with procedures and regulations.
  • Assign and monitor subordinate to perform maintenance and repairs as well as technical support jobs.
  • Request preventative maintenance or urgent maintenance for and equipment.
  • Based on equipment usage plan and scheduled maintenance and repair work, liaises with operations for the availability of the equipment.
  • Monitors status of preventative maintenance schedules, ensures all PM work is being done timely.
  • Responsible for the condition and performance of vehicles and equipment during their work shift.
  • Ensures maximum availability of equipment is maintained for port operations.
  • Ensures that breakdowns are attended and repaired by the subordinate promptly, minimizing the disruption to the Operations. Control overtime through adequate planning and scheduling.
  • Ensures that planning, scheduling, and unscheduled repairs are carried out efficiently and cost effectively, with high quality service.
  • Ensure that the equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable working condition in accordance with planned preventive maintenance program and to identify and rectify repetitive problems.
  • In coordination with subordinate provides information and reports on daily equipment availability, hourly functionality, and repair status & shift reports.
  • Proposing internal training courses to improve skills of subordinate.
  • The position is expected to constantly contribute to improve work processes, methods and to improve technical efficiency of machinery & equipment, by following up best practices.
  • Monitors status and performance of the equipment; proposes and implements improvement in maintenance practices leading to increased overall performance (reliability & availability) of the equipment.
  • Handles other duties assigned by manager as and when required.
  • The position is responsible for considering and ensuring the confidentiality of all works, documents and information received during work performance with due diligence and not to disclose any confidential information to any third-party for any purpose that is related to the company’s business during and after the employment with Gemalink.
  • The position has the responsibility to read, acknowledge understanding, stay updated and set good example of compliance with the company’s policies stipulated in various regulations, guides and manuals.
Candidate Requirements
  • University Degree in Electrical, Industrial Automation, Automatic Control, Mechatronics, Industrial Electrical or Control Engineering & Automation
  • Requires at least two years of general supervisory experience in general maintenance section in any ports, mines, steel, and manufacturing plants.
  • Have experience in maintenance and repair for port equipment such as: QC crane, RTG crane, Spreader, Tractor, Trailer.
  • Priority is given to candidates who are knowledgeable and have worked with PLC-Drive systems of Siemens, Yaskawa, Sauer – Danfoss, Fuji, ABB in the port system.
  • Requires knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, instruction
  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Skill in negotiation and conflict resolution including work planning, organizing, and guidance.
  • Ability thinking and analyzing, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • English: TOEIC 500
