On Vietnam Liberation day, April 30, 2022, Nam Dinh Vu Port has continued to set a new record when successfully operating the M/V MSC KERRY belonging to the world’s largest shipping company, MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company). M/V MSC KERRY is the largest container ship operating at the port system of the Bach Dang channel (239.6m LOA, 45,530 DWT capacity).
On the morning of December 13, 2021, Phuoc Long Port (PIP) launched the Phuoc Long 66 barge with a capacity of 248 TEUs at SSMI Binh Trieu shipyard to put it into operation. Previously, on December 8, 2021, the Phuoc Long 64 barge (248 TEUs) was also successfully launched and put into operation.
On December 7, 2021, the next 6 carriages of train No.8, 9 of Metro line No.1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) docked at Khanh Hoi port. In December 10 and December 13, Gemadept has once again worked closely with the investors and the contractors to transport the train carriages to Long Binh depot in Thu Duc city.
Overcoming challenges when the whole country is fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic, Gemadept Corporation (Gemadept) took on a series of concrete and practical actions to join hands with everyone to push back the pandemic. At the same time, the Company provides physical and spiritual motivation for the frontline hospitals in the fight to save patients from Covid-19. Continuing the donation to the Vaccine Fund, purchasing medical equipment for hospitals, awarding scholarships to children of doctors and nurses and more, on the morning of August 18, 2021, representatives of Gemadept donated the advanced Anesthesia machine and patient monitors to Thong Nhat Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
In the end of August and the beginning of September 2021, Gemadept continuously received good news from the Northern Port Clusters, it is a remarkable result from the Company’s huge efforts in term of preventing epidemics and ensuring the promotion of business activities.
On September 27, 2021, Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine announced the list of Global Best Projects Awards in 2021. In which, Gemalink Deep-sea Port is the unique port project representing Vietnam and is one of two projects in the world honored in the category of Civil Marine Works.
