Gemadept Joint Stock Company Successfully Organized the 7th Trade Union Congress (Term 2025–2030)

On the afternoon of October 24, 2025, at the Company Hall, 6 Le Thanh Ton, Ho Chi Minh City, the Trade Union of Gemadept Corporation solemnly held the 7th Trade Union Congress for the 2025–2030 term.

The Congress was honored to welcome comrades: Mai Le Loi – Chairman, Le Phan Linh – Former Chairman, Do Van Dung – Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Committee of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union, along with representatives from the Company’s Leadership including Comrade Pham Quoc Long – Deputy General Director, and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thao – Secretary of the Company’s Party Cell.

Attending the Congress were 74 delegates, representing member grassroots unions under the Company’s Trade Union in many regions across the country.

During the working agenda, the Congress heard the Summary Report for the 6th Term (2023–2025), which acknowledged outstanding achievements in caring for the lives of employees, building emulation movements, and collaborating with professional departments. It also determined the direction for the 7th Term, focusing on renovating trade union activities, improving the quality of representation, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees.

Giving direction at the Congress, Comrade Mai Le Loi praised the achievements of the Gemadept Trade Union and requested that the new Executive Committee continue to promote a proactive and creative spirit, ensuring ever-improving care for union members.

Comrade Le Phan Linh offered practical suggestions regarding crew welfare, particularly emphasizing the importance of enhancing benefits and developing the direct labor force, the foundation for the enterprise’s sustainable development.

Representing the Company’s Leadership, Comrade Pham Quoc Long – Deputy General Director affirmed the role of the Trade Union Executive Committee as a bridge between the Gemadept’s Leadership and the company’s staff and employees. He acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility demonstrated by the 6th Term Executive Committee, who successfully managed to fulfill their concurrent duties, ensuring both professional work and effectively carrying out their role of representation and caring for the employees’ lives. The Leadership trusts that the collective Trade Union Executive Committee will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and responsibility in the new term.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Trade Union for the 7th term (2025–2030), consisting of 15 comrades, and elected three delegates (official and alternate) to attend the Congress of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union for the next term. Immediately after the Congress, the new Executive Committee held its first meeting to elect the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Standing Committee members, and Inspection Committee members, ensuring a clear organizational structure well-suited to the tasks in the new term.

Operating under the spirit of “Solidarity – Democracy – Innovation – Development,” the 7th Term Trade Union Executive Committee commits to continuing its role as a representative body, accompanying the Group’s Leadership in caring for the lives and welfare of employees, and building the Gemadept collective to be sustainably developed and long-lasting, worthy of its position as the leading enterprise in Vietnam’s port and logistics industry.

The Congress concluded in an atmosphere of solidarity, excitement, and confidence in a new term marked by significant innovation and success.
