Gemadept honors the Nation’s roots: A Tribute to War Heroes and Martyrs on the 78th Anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day

From a small business of a few dozen people with a capital of 6.2 billion VND when equitized in 1993, Gemadept has now become the only listed enterprise in Vietnam to possess the Port and Logistics ecosystem from North to South. Gemadept’s development is also the growth of its teams – people with the Gemadept Gene, from the first employees to the now thousands, are constantly learning and improving professional qualifications and skills.

During times of a rapidly changing and unpredictable market since 2019 until now, Gemadept has chosen strategic thinking according to the balanced scorecard model for effective management to ensure strategy implementation and achieving the 2025 vision.

To equip key personnel of departments and accountants of units with IFRS knowledge, the Company’s Accounting Department has invited consulting expert Ms. Tran Thi Hai Van, MSc, ACCA, CIA to organize an International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) training course in the form of direct training at the Gemadept’s Head Office and online at other units.

Deeply aware of the role and responsibility of business towards the community, and following the Company’s sustainable development orientation, Gemadept has been implementing activities and initiatives to minimize the impact of its production activities on the environment.

On July 27, 2023, Gemadept’s Board of Directors and staff solemnly visited and offered incense and memorial wreaths at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Ho Chi Minh City, expressing their deep gratitude to the war veterans that heroically sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

In a difficult time where production and business show no signs of recovery, cutting costs and waste is vital for every business in completing its business plan. In that spirit, GMD organized a training session called “Improve waste reduction and work efficiency” on June 21, 2023, under the guidance of Mr. Dang Van Quang – HSSE Department.

On June 15, 2023, Gemadept Corporation held a training session for Dung Quat Port and Gemadept Central employees to highlight the core values and cultural principles that have formed Gemadept’s people along with the identification of difficulties and the current situation of production and business of the unit in the general situation of the Company. Thereby proposing solutions to support in solving the difficulties and challenges that employees of Central region of the Company are facing.

On June 16, 2023, Gemadept welcomed teachers and students of the Institute of International Education and Training – School of Transport (IEC) in Ho Chi Minh City to visit Gemalink Deep-sea Port. Visitors had the opportunity to experience practical activities of the Port. From there, they could to make connections between the field of study and real work.

“Friendship Day” – On May 27, 2023, Gemalink Port and CMA-CGM Vietnam team together held a friendly football match in Phu My, Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

On May 29, 2023, Gemadept organized for students and new employees of the Group to visit Gemalink Deep Water Port. This is a good opportunity for students and new employees of Gemadept to experience the actual activities of the Port and enrich their professional knowledge in the field of port operation.
