On June 5, 2023, Forbes Vietnam announced the "Top 50 Listed Companies" in 2023 for the 11th time. With impressive business results, Gemadept Corporation is honored to be in the list for the 7th time. The joy is then doubled when Saigon Cargo Services Corporation (SCSC) is also honored for the 3rd time in this list.
Companies listed on the HSX and HNX are evaluated through several stages to create the List of Top 50 Listed Companies in 2023. In the qualifying round, companies must meet the following conditions: profitable in 2022, has a turnover and capital of at least VND 500 billion. In the next round, companies are evaluated quantitatively based on 5 criteria: revenue, profit, ROE ratio, ROC, and the compound growth rate of EPS growth in the period of 2018 – 2022 with the support of quantitative calculations by SSI Securities. Forbes Vietnam then conducts a qualitative study to evaluate the company's sustainable development including the company's position in the industry, profit sources, quality of corporate governance, industry prospects, etc.
Particularly in the field of Logistics, the Forbes 50 honors 5 industry representatives, including the outstanding presence of Gemadept Corporation and Saigon Cargo Services Corporation – SCSC (Gemadept's joint venture and associate company).
Continuing many important and meaningful events in the past time, Gemadept has set a new milestone in the port operation industry in Vietnam when Gemalink Deep-sea Port was selected as one of the connecting ports for the world's largest container vessel OOCL Spain with a capacity of 24,188 TEUs on its first journey connecting Asia-Europe. Then on May 24, 2023, Gemadept had the grand opening and officially put into operation Phase 2 of Nam Dinh Vu port cluster in Hai Phong. The Company will soon deploy phase 3 to develop Nam Dinh Vu Port into a largest river port in North Vietnam.
In 2022, Gemadept achieved impressive business results with net revenue of VND 3,898 billion – an increase of 22% and profit after tax increased by 63% compared to 2021. Port operation continued to be a segment with positive growth, accounting for nearly 80% of the Company's revenue structure.
Gemadept's joy is doubled when SCSC, a company in Gemadept's logistics ecosystem, is honored for the third consecutive year in the list of Top 50 listed companies. SCSC is built according to international standards and professionally operated by a team of highly qualified personnel, using advanced technology and meeting the most stringent requirements of the world aviation industry. In 2022, SCSC continued to achieve positive business results with profit before tax increasing by 15% compared to the same period in 2021.
SCSC is continuing to invest in expanding capacity from 200,000 tons/year to 350,000 tons/year to best meet the needs of customers.
