Inside which, the Company’s existing advantages lie in its infrastructure system, operational capacity, and corporate culture foundation, thereby creating room to expand business activities in the coming time,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh further emphasized.

At the AGM, Gemadept also approved the 2025 profit distribution plan in cash at a rate of 22%, meaning shareholders owning one share will receive 2,200 VND ; and approved the plan to issue shares from equity capital at a rate of 50%, corresponding to the issuance of a maximum of over 216.4 million additional shares.

If the issuance is successful, Gemadept’s charter capital is expected to increase from 4,328.9 billion VND to 6,493.39 billion VND.

In particular, Gemadept submitted a proposal to shareholders to change its Vietnamese name from ‘Công ty cổ phần Gemadept’ to ‘Công ty cổ phần Tập đoàn Gemadept’. The purpose of the name change is to align with the company’s development orientation, scale, and new business strategy, while ensuring consistency across its trade name and brand identity system, and fitting its corporate governance requirements in the new phase.

Regarding the recent cooperation between Gemadept and CJ Logistics, Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hương, Chief Financial Officer, stated that with existing advantages and a long-term vision, Gemadept is bringing shipping activities back as a link connecting the port system nationwide, playing the role of a bridge between shipping lines and the flow of goods. Accordingly, the consolidation of the shipping segment not only helps complete the ecosystem but also creates a greater synergy effect, expected to contribute about an additional 20% of revenue to the Company.

It is known that prior to this, Gemadept and CJ Logistics agreed to deploy strategic optimization for Logistics and Shipping activities to promote the competitive advantages of the two enterprises. Therein, Gemadept will invest in and focus on managing and operating 100% of Shipping activities, and Gemadept will directly invest to hold a 49% stake in Mekong Logistics Joint Stock Company (MKL); while CJ Logistics will invest in and focus on managing and operating 100% of 3PL Logistics service activities.

In addition, also at the AGM, shareholders expressed concern regarding the competitive pressure at the two main port clusters in Nam Dinh Vu and Cai Mep. Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Marketing Director, shared that despite the increasing level of competition in the industry in Hai Phong—especially as a portion of cargo shifts to the Lach Huyen area (Hai Phong) after berths 3–4 and 7–8 enter operation from 2025— throughput volume at Nam Dinh Vu port still maintained its growth momentum in 2025. According to the Gemadept, Nam Dinh Vu continues to be a suitable choice for intra-Asia routes thanks to the advantage of having significantly lower handling costs compared to Lach Huyen, while the Dinh Vu area has already formed a synchronized logistics ecosystem, making customer migration not easy. Currently, Nam Dinh Vu accounts for about 20% of the market share and continues to hold a central role for intra-Asia routes, particularly due to the advantage of the Ha Nam canal.

Regarding the Cai Mep – Thi Vai area, where Gemalink Deep-sea Port is currently operating, the enterprise stated that the 2022–2025 period recorded a throughput growth rate of about 10–12% per year, and conservatively forecasts that the 2025–2030 period will maintain a rate of 8–10% per year, with total throughput estimated to reach 12.5–12.7 million TEUs by 2030. Furthermore, if Gemalink Phase 2 and 3 projects, along with related projects in the region, are put into operation, the total capacity is expected to increase to about 10 million TEUs, which would still not meet the region’s demand; therefore, the Company is not overly concerned about competitive pressure in the Cai Mep – Thi Vai area.

It is known that at the end of Q1/2026, Gemadept recorded revenue of 1,452.41 billion VND , an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period. Net profit after tax reached 650.23 billion VND, an increase of 24.2% compared to the same period last year.

Source: Báo Đầu Tư

Gemadept Corporation (Stock code: GMD) approved two scenarios, with expected revenue ranging from 6,500 to 6,800 billion VND and expected profit before tax ranging from 2,800 to 3,000 billion VND in 2026.

[2,27

post-20695","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-companys-news
["GET
